FAQ

Where are your yoga mats made?

We are an Australian owned and run brand. Our cork is sourced from Oak Trees in Portugal and the rubber from Rubber Trees in Thailand and our products are then manufactured in China. The cork layer is submerged into a 100% natural tree rubber backing at high temperature, without the use of toxic glues or adhesives.

We are a small company that believe in timeless design and conscious consumption. We are always striving to improve our processes and have dreams to continuously improve our processes along every aspect of the production process. We ensure no plastic is used for the packaging of our products, our yoga mats are wrapped in corn paper and shipped in a cardboard box with very minimal packaging 'extras'. We also use biodegradable mailer bags for our cork accessories.

How do I clean my yoga mat?

For regular yoga mat maintenance and routine cleaning, we recommend wiping your mat down with a damp cloth or wet wipe on a weekly basis or as needed. If you have a vigorous practice, or are doing hot yoga, we recommend doing so after each use.

Can you recommend a biodegradable wipe for daily cleaning of my yoga mat?

We currently recommend the Wotnot Biodegradable Natural Baby wipes which you can shop online here.  Please reach out if you have any other recommendations!

I have just unrolled my yoga mat for the first time and its a little slippery, what should I do?

If you have purchased your yoga mat and found it to be a bit slippery, we recommend you spray it with a little water where your hands and feet go - the moisture will provide extra grip.  Once you start to work up a sweat there shouldn't be a problem.  And once you have 'broken your mat in' after a few sessions you will probably find you no longer need to wet it.

What yoga mat is right for me?

I purchased a new yoga mat, what do I do with my old yoga mat?

There are many alternative used for your old mat! Here are a couple ideas for you!

  • Drop it off to an animal shelter! They have plenty of need for soft, durable mats to line crates, use at mats ect!

  • Donate to the homeless shelter as a sleeping pad

  • Cut it up and use as grip pads for furniture, and kitchen drawers

  • Cut it up and use it as a mat to protect your car boot floor from muddy dog paws!

Your mailer bags are biodegradable, how do I properly dispose of them?

Our Cork Accessories come in our beautiful Meraki Totes and posted to you in Hero 100% biodegradable packs which you can compost at home!

It's easy; simply remove any shipping labels, cut the mailer pack into strips and place into the compost bin as 'brown' material. They act similar too twigs, leaves and paper. For every two parts of brown material, you need one part of green material, such as food scraps, tea leaves and fresh grass. Every few days rotate the compost bin to oxygen can flow through.

You can read more about the mailer bags here.

If you have any other questions, please email them through to us at [email protected] and one of our team members will get back to you!
